Botanical Drawing Workshop – Winter in the Scented Garden
Seasonal Fruit & Nuts – 4th December
In this one day workshop you will observe and draw a variety of fruit and nuts, from the contrasting textures of almonds and brazils, to the pitted skin of a satsuma or the patterns of seeds in a fig.
This is a relaxed, fun workshop suitable for all skills. You will receive all the support you need to help you achieve a botanically accurate drawing that is also visually attractive. You will be encouraged to use a range of pencils from the dark 6B through to the pale 6H and will be shown a variety of techniques from clear outlines to sharp hatching and smooth, rich blending.
Penny is a Fellow of The Society of Botanical Artists and exhibits with them regularly. You can purchase her book in the Keyneston Mill shop. Fruit, nuts and practice paper will be provided, and there will be some very soft and very hard pencils for you to try. Sheets of cartridge paper will be available for purchase if required.
